The Nelumbo 'Ben Gibson' is an medium small variety with double flowers but not too full; the flower is deep pink, and white. It reaches 120 cm in height and is also suitable for small pails. is an unusual variety that does not close the flowers during the night.

is a cross between Nelumbo 'Alba Plena' and Nelumbo 'Momo Botan', created by Perry D. Slocum in 1988, who dedicated it to one of his stepsons
