Imperata cylindrica 'Red Baron' is an ornamental gramineae, native to Asia. It has a creeping rhizome and Stolonifer, from which arise small erect stems. Erect leaves, ribbon, bright green in spring; that become blood red, in early summer. In July August emits inflorescence in the form of white wick. It reaches a maximum height of 60 cm and prefers full sun.

It is cultivated on wet ground or slightly submerged in water, but also on regular soil but well watered. Tolerates winter temperatures up to -20 ° C
