Arundo donax is a herbaceous perennial marsh plant; which comes from the basin of Europe, Middle East and India. consists of drums cables diameter 2-3 cm, alternate leaves, lanceolate, 2 cm wide and as long as 60 cm green with silvery behind a tuft of hair woolly. In late summer it produces an inflorescence feathered brown, long 40-60 cm, but rarely the seeds are fertile.
Reaches 6 m in height and must be cultivated on damp or swampy, rich in organic matter, in a sunny or partial shade. Suitable for larger ponds or as border plant along canals and streams.

Not sensitive to frost and tolerate winter temperatures down to -20 ° C.
