Description

Ceratophyllum demersum is a submerged oxygenating aquatic plant that grows mainly in still water or so moves with a summer temperature of 15-30 ° C. Develops stems which may reach 1 or 2 m length with countless soft needles that make it look like a tail. The leaves vary in length from 8 to 40 mm. The flowers are difficult to see because the petals are green like the rest of the plant, and then become slightly darker. The fruit is a small nut usually with three pins. The Ceratophyllum demersum not develop roots, but only absorbs all its nourishment directly from the stems and leaves. Also this plant is a great retreat for fish fry of the species of small size, thanks to thin leaves spirals that make you feel the fry safely, and trap them. For optimal growth it is recommended to plant it in ponds with a good supply of nutrients.

For sale only in bare root (rhizome portion) from March to October.
