Description

Myriophyllum spicatum (Yarrow of water) is a rhizomatous perennial aquatic plant native to Europe and Asia. lives immersed in water from 30 to 300 cm; forming submerged leaves that in addition to the filter function and oxygenation offer refuge to the fry of fish and aquatic insects. From May to July on the surface outcrops small red flowers whitish. It has fleshy roots that grow in the soil, colonizzandolo, it tends to form dense groups. It is present in almost all Italian although it is difficult to see. It prefers still waters and is found in lakes, ditches, rivers and streams, in a sunny and neutral ground. Also good as a plant for the aquarium. On sale from March to October only bare root (rhizome portion).
