Description

Carex hirta is a marsh plant in height from 10 to 30 cm, with stingrays stems and narrow leaves and long as the stem of bright green, covered with a fine down. Between April and June produce inflorescences of brown ear.

Excellent ground cover plant and stolonifera, both for ponds that for constructed wetland plants, especially in mixture with other plants.

It prefers moist soil, or marshy, in semi shaded position.

It is a native and hardy plant that can stand the cold.
