Carex nigra 'On Line' is a marsh plant that forms dense clumps of variegated green leaves of yellow and white, 3 mm wide. Flowering takes place between April and June with dark brown ears, it reaches a maximum height of 20 cm. It is cultivated in soil constantly moist or flooded with 5 cm of water in a sunny position. Also suitable for small ponds; to contain the development it is advisable to grow it in a pot.
Graminacea hardy of beautiful effect, almost an evergreen, which is not affected by frost. Also good for constructed wetlands.
