The Phragmites australis 'Variegata' is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant of the family Poaceae. It is the only species of the genus Phragmites. It may even reach 4 meters in height. The leaves are opposite, are large and laminar, long 15 to 60 cm, width 1-6 cm, glabrous, green variegated with yellow. At the height of the shaft is a cob brown or purplish color, long up to 40 centimeters. This cultivar is inserted into the reservoirs for the color of its leaves, it has nevertheless an excellent fitodepurante action.

It is cultivated on damp soil or covered by 10cm of water in full sun or partial shade.
