Description

Alisma plantago-aquatica, also called Mestolaccia, is a perennial aquatic plant of the family of Alismataceae. It is composed of a small tuberous rhizome from which rise of lanceolate leaves bright green color. It can reach 60 cm high and has flowers panicle, white rosy. Its natural habitat consists of marshes, ditches and banks of lakes and rivers. It can be grown submerged in water up to 15 cm deep, is very ornamental if planted in plain view in the artificial lakes, forming a beautiful carpet of lance-shaped leaves. It prefers sunny locations and neutral soils.

This plant is very hardy and can stand the cold.
