Nymphaea 'Burgundy Princess' is a variety of water lilies with small star-shaped flowers of only 7-10 cm in diameter coming out of the water by 5 cm. The 28-30 petals are narrow and lanceolate Mixed ruby red color of white and pink, the sepals are white. The leaves are almost round of 12 cm in diameter, dark green with brown spots and reddish margin. It occupies a space of 60 cmq and must be planted at a depth of 20 - 50 cm. It has a compact growth and is recommended on small ponds or troughs of at least 80 cm in diameter.
Not sensitive to frost.
Was bred by Kirk Strawn (USA) in 1983, it is derived from the intersection of Nymphaea 'Prink Beauty' x Nymphaea 'Perry's Pink'.
