Description

Nymphaea 'Sioux' has starred iridescent flowers that become darker by the day starting from the center towards the tips. The first day is yellow - pink and third days are red - orange, consist of 19-20 petals. The leaves have a diameter of 13 - 15 cm of green color with small irregular reddish stains. It occupies a space of 1.2 square meters and must be planted at a depth of 40 - 60 cm. This variety suffer high temperatures and its flowers can also wither, do not grow on tubs above ground or in the hot regions of Italy. This variety is very floriferous and its flowers remain open till late (the flowers of water lilies are closed in the evening).


It was bred by Joseph B.L. Marliac in 1908.


Available from March to September.
